Winnipeg is no stranger to snow.
The City allocates $30 to $40 million on snow removal and ice control annually, depending on weather conditions. We know that snow removal is an important priority for Fort Rouge-East Fort Garry residents and Winnipeggers alike.
To keep our streets and sidewalks plowed, we have a Snow Clearing and Ice Removal Policy at the City of Winnipeg.
- Priority I streets are plowed first. In Fort Rouge-East Fort Garry, this includes Broadway, Sherbrook, Osborne St., Corydon, Pembina, and majority of the downtown streets, amongst others.
- Priority II streets include transit roads, including Assiniboine Ave., Morley, Lilac St., and Churchill Drive, amongst others.
- Priority III are residential streets. This includes Wardlaw, McMillan Ave., and Mulvey, amongst others.
