Convoy one year later

Posted on: January 2, 2023

Last year downtown residents went days without sleep due to the constant honking, faced racist, homophobic, and gender-based harassment, downtown businesses were forced to close, and residents have had long-term health issues from the convoy, such as tinnitus.

With growing anxiety and calls to my office around the freedom convoy and the unreasonableness of its return I continue to speak about the impact last year's convoy had on my constituents, the downtown, and residents' livability.

My stance is very firm and unequivocal don't come into Winnipeg.

Figure out how to participate in political activity, and don't occupy where people live and sleep. The convoy should not be allowed to enter the city or stay, and they certainly should not be allowed to disrupt downtown like we saw last year.
