Council Member Appointments at the Organizational Meeting of Council
Council member appointments occurred today at the organizational meeting of council. In addition to my role in the Executive Policy Committee as the Chair of the Standing Policy Committee on Property and Development, I am proud and delighted to serve Fort Rouge-East Fort Garry and the broader Winnipeg community in the following positions:
- Standing Policy Committee on Finance and Economic Development
- Human Rights Committee of Council
- Board of Directors of the Winnipeg Metropolitan Region
- Edgecorp-City of Winnipeg Venture Agreement Management Committee
- River Park South Joint Venture Agreement Management Committee
- Transcona West Joint Venture Agreement Management Committee
- Winnipeg Housing Rehabilitation Corporation
- Downtown Winnipeg Business Improvement Zone Board
- Osborne Village Business Improvement Zone Board
- South Osborne Business Improvement Zone Board
- And West Broadway Business Improvement Zone Board
I also seconded Mayor Gillingham’s motion to amend the City Organization By-law 7100/97 and rename the Standing Committees of council and for the remaining amalgamated Standing Committees to assume jurisdiction over other areas. Here is the motion:
Joining me in the Standing Policy Committee on Property and Development are Councillor Matt Allard, Councillor Shawn Dobson, and Councillor Evan Duncan. I am looking forward to undertaking this very important role as Chair of Property and Development and working with my colleagues in the next year.
