The Class of 2021

Posted on: May 7, 2021

The pandemic disrupts graduation celebrations.  While last year, public health orders seemed to open up just as class was ending, we know this will not be the case this year.
We remain steadfastly in support of recognizing student achievement with Fort Rouge-East Fort Garry student awards and maintaining Jennie Gerbasi’s legacy!
2021 we are looking forward to recognizing lucky Grade 12 grads who exemplify academic excellence and community spirit through volunteerism.  We have approved three $500.00 awards and are awaiting news of who the recipients will be.  At which time, we will celebrate them again!

One will be a graduate of Collège Churchill (French immersion program), one from Churchill High School, and one from Vincent Massey Collegiate. We also have some school book awards approved for elementary schools in the ward.

Fort Rouge-East Fort Garry will be sponsoring some summer student positions with safety gear like PPE in partnership with Crescent Park Rescue and the Oak Table this year.  These are wonderful opportunities for the students as well as the organizations and I enjoy meeting the students on-the-job!
