Celebrating Trees Riverview

Posted on: May 7, 2021

Last fall, I was happy to support Trees Riverview with a Land Dedication Reserve grant in the amount of $14, 442.00 in order to restore Winnipeg's beautiful urban canopy.

Trees Riverview received a further $12,500.00 in funding through the Assiniboine Credit Union for their replanting project and this spring, have been hard at work planting several new trees in the Riverview neighborhood. After consultation with the City of Winnipeg's Urban Forestry department Trees Riverview selected Baltimore Rd, Arnold Ave and Fisher St to receive the new trees.

I was happy to celebrate this milestone on May 3rd  with Trees Riverview Co-chairs May Wady and Wendy Botkin and Dennis Cunningham from Assiniboine Credit Union (who also happens to be the President of Riverview CC).

Trees Riverview will also be hosting an upcoming tree wrapping day with the City of Winnipeg Naturalist Department wrapping trees along Churchill Drive to protect them from busy beavers.

Thank you Trees Riverview for your continued advocacy.
